Profile Picture of Miranda de la Vega

Dr. Miranda de la Vega is a board-certified small animal surgeon who performs orthopedic, neurologic, and soft tissue procedures. Originally from Los Angeles, Dr. de la Vega earned her Associate of Science in Pre-Veterinary Medicine from Los Angeles Pierce College. She then earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from Oregon State University College of Veterinary Medicine. After veterinary school, she pursued additional training through a rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Gulf Coast Veterinary Specialists in Houston, Texas, followed by a surgical internship at Veterinary Specialty Center in Chicago, Illinois, and an advanced emergency and surgery internship at Ocean State Veterinary Specialists in Rhode Island, where she stayed to complete her small animal surgical residency.

Dr. de la Vega obtained board certification as a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons (Small Animal) in 2025. She is also a Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner (CCRP). She is currently completing a fellowship in minimally invasive orthopedic surgery at ACCESS Bone & Joint Center in Los Angeles.

Dr. de la Vega enjoys all aspects of small animal surgery but has special interests in orthopedic disease and trauma surgery with an emphasis on arthroscopy and minimally invasive fracture repair. She is currently working toward certification in total hip replacement (THR) through BioMedtrix and certification as a Certified Veterinary Pain Practitioner (CVPP). She is also passionate about anesthesia, locoregional nerve blocks, and chronic pain management. Her approach combines evidence-based practice with a strong focus on pain management and functional recovery to support the best possible outcome for every patient.

IWhen not in the operating room, Dr. de la Vega enjoys eating at new restaurants, playing video games, reading fantasy novels, and decorating her home with plants—most of which her cat insists on sampling.
