Dr Kishore

Dr. Deepan Kishore is a board-certified specialist in Canine and Feline Practice and a Founding Fellow in Emergency Practice. He has spent over a decade working in a high-volume, 24/7 emergency and specialty hospital, where he served in multiple leadership roles, including Director of Research, Chair of the Internship Selection Committee and medical director.

Dr. Kishore brings a comprehensive, multidisciplinary approach to patient care with expertise in emergency medicine, soft tissue, and orthopedic surgery. He routinely integrates advanced imaging and minimally invasive modalities such as computed tomography (CT), fluoroscopy, endoscopy, laparoscopy, arthroscopy, and cystoscopy for both diagnostics and treatment.

He has performed over 5,000 surgical procedures, including TPLOs (ACL repair), fracture repairs (internal and external fixation), hemilaminectomies, and complex abdominal and thoracic surgeries. A strong advocate for opioid-sparing approaches to pain management, Dr. Kishore utilizes platelet-rich plasma (PRP), stem cell therapy, and physical rehabilitation for chronic pain control and improved recovery.

In his previous roles, Dr. Kishore helped implement cutting-edge medical technologies—including CT scanners, hyperbaric chambers, and minimally invasive surgical systems—many of which were among the first in the region. He also led and participated in clinical trials focused on oncology, pain management, and innovative therapies, with published research on cancer therapies, heat stress and immune adaptation to environmental challenges.
Dr. Kishore has mentored veterinary students from across the country and helped design and launch a one-year rotating internship program in medicine and surgery. He remains committed to education, research, and advancing veterinary care through collaboration and innovation.

Dr. Kishore and his wife, Blessy Thomas, live in North Texas with their two children, Derek and Addilyn Hannah, their labradoodle Smiley, and a lively collection of small mammals. They attend the Prestonwood Baptist Church. Outside of veterinary medicine, he enjoys cricket, Krav Maga, and badminton.
